What is Gake Saves?
Gake Saves is a behavioral-finance platform built around purposeful, disciplined money management. Its current product, Campus Edition, gives university students a simple way to subscribe to campus restaurant meal plans and redeem meals with a QR scan.
How do meal subscriptions work?
Browse a restaurant's available meal plans, choose one that fits your budget, and subscribe. Your subscription stays pending until the restaurant verifies your payment, then it becomes active and your meals are added to your account.
How do I pay for a subscription?
You pay the restaurant directly, using the payment method (for example mobile money or bank transfer) the restaurant provides on the subscription screen — not through a Gake Saves account or wallet.
Who receives my subscription payment?
The restaurant does, directly. Gake Saves does not hold, custody, or process that payment — it records the payment evidence you submit and the restaurant's verification decision.
When does my subscription become active?
Once you submit your payment reference, amount, and payment date, the restaurant reviews it. Your subscription becomes active — and your meals are added — only after the restaurant approves that evidence.
How do I redeem a meal?
At the restaurant, scan their Gake Saves QR code. Your subscription is checked and, if a meal is available, it's redeemed instantly and your remaining meal count updates.
What happens when I have no meals remaining?
You can't redeem another meal until you subscribe to a new plan, or renew, with that or another restaurant.
Can I subscribe to more than one restaurant?
Yes — nothing limits you to a single restaurant. Subscribe to as many meal plans as fit your budget, at any restaurant on the marketplace.
How do I know when a meal is being served?
Each meal shows its own serving window on the restaurant's page, so you know when it's available to redeem.

How does a restaurant join Gake Saves?
Apply through the restaurant partnership form. Our team reviews every application before the restaurant account is activated.
How are student payments verified?
A student submits their payment reference, amount, and payment date after paying you directly. Your restaurant account shows that evidence for you to review and approve or reject.
How are meal subscriptions managed?
From the Restaurant Portal, you create meal plans, and review and manage the subscribers who've paid for them.
How are meals redeemed?
A student scans your restaurant's Gake Saves QR code. The system checks their active subscription and remaining meals before confirming the redemption.
What information does the restaurant see?
You see the subscribers to your own meal plans, the payment evidence they submit for your review, and your own transaction and redemption history — never another restaurant's data.
